It's Avian Day at the airport and several feathered friends have already boarded the plane: cardinals, bald eagles, hummingbirds, falcons.  But as a penguin and ostrich reach the front of the line a security guard steps ahead of them.  "I'm sorry to tell you," he says, "but both of you are on the No-Fly list."

Master Chef

Every day this week we are picking a winning recipe for different categories of food, so listen at 6:20am to hear the day's category then you can submit your recipe right here on the Wake Up With The Wolf page!  Today's winner for the entree category is Jeff Johnson with his Jalapeno Shrimp Wraps!

Ingredients: Large Jalapeno Peppers, Large Shrimp with tails, shell and vein removed, sliced onion, quartered bacon cut in to 6 inch pieces, butter, and bamboo skewers

Directions:  Start soaking the bamboo skewers in water at least 60 minutes in advance of preparation.  Slice the jalapeno's lengthwise and remove the seeds(You can leave some seeds to increase spiciness).  Place one shrimp, a slice of onion and about 1/4 teaspoon of butter inside the pepper.  Additional spices can be added as you desire.  Wrap the bacon around the outside of the pepper and run a skewer through the bacon, pepper and shrimp.  The skewer will hold everything together while it cooks.  Place on a grill over low to low-medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the bacon and shrimp are done.  You can make as many as you want, but make sure you watch the cook!  It never fails, we never get back the same amount we take out for him to cook!
