MACON, GEORGIA — Friday night (Aug 11th) Sold-Out show for Macon native, Jason Aldean. 100 percent of the ticket sales go towards the new $63 million Children’s Hospital being constructed in the city. Last April 2016, he performed and again all proceeds went to the Navicent Health Children’s Hospital., hat concert raised half a million.
While Jason and his wife were in town they visited patients in the Children’s Hospital, “I can’t think of a better thing to donate your time and money to than that,” says Aldean.
Before the concert there was a ceremony where Aldean was presented with a Street Sign name that will be run along Pine St in Macon, outside the new Children’s Hospital set to open in 2019.
“Having a street named after you is pretty cool. I probably got a speeding ticket on that street when I was younger,” says Aldean. “You know, when I left here, one thing that you kind of want to do is go out and sort of make your hometown proud,” says Aldean. “I think we all, where we were raised, kind of shapes us and molds us into people we are and the things that we relate to in life,” he said. “To me, music is no different. Songs that I relate to are because of how I was raised and where I grew up, which was here.”
