This will be the second IKEA store in North Texas, with 290,000 square-foot store. This will be the fourth store in Texas, the first IKEA store in DFW opened in Frisco in 2005, There are other IKEA Stores in Texas located in Houston, Round Rock soon in San Antonio scheduled to open Summer 2019 and another in DFW, set for Fort Worth also in the Summer of 2019.
IKEA Grand Prairie will feature nearly 10,000 exclusively designed items, a supervised children’s play area, and a restaurant. Unlike Frisco the store, Grand Prairie location will only be single-level and will include one of the largest retail solar rooftops in Texas. According to IKEA Press Release: Customers can begin lining-up at the store on Monday, December 11, 2017 – 48 hours in advance of the doors’ opening on December 13th at 9 a.m.
