The FBI received more than 200,000 background check requests on Black Friday which set a new single day record, the bureau reported Saturday.
How much exactly? 203,086 requests on Friday 11/24, that passed the previous Black Friday record of 185,713 in 2016. Gun checks, required for purchases at federally licensed firearm dealers, are not a measure of actual gun sales. The surge could be because of the recent events and the church tragedy of Nov 5th.
