Self-Driving Uber SUV Struck and Killed Pedestrian

A 49-year-old woman was using the crosswalk when she was struck and killed. The accident happened at 10 p.m. The woman was walking a bicycle ‘outside the crosswalk’,  Tempe police are still investigating.  The Uber vehicle was in auto-mode, however there was a human safety driver behind the wheel at the time of the accident.   Uber said it had suspended testing of its self-driving cars.   Who’s to blame?   More Story:  HERE

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family. We are fully cooperating with local authorities in their investigation of this incident,” an Uber spokeswoman, Sarah Abboud, said in a statement.

Breaking News: A woman died after being hit by a self-driving Uber car in Tempe, Arizona. It’s the first known pedestrian fatality from a driverless vehicle.
