The school district made the announcement official in a news release. Here are their reasons: a four-day week will help entice and keep quality teachers . . . and by not running school buses on the days with no classes, the district estimates to save around $700,000 and save a couple hundred thousand dollars by not paying for substitute teachers and more big savings on utility costs.
