Buc-ee’s wins trademark lawsuit against Choke Canyon
Buc-ee’s filed a federal lawsuit against San Antonio BBQ / Travel Center claiming their logo is too similar to Buc-ee’s logo. Verdict was decided today: BUC-EE’s won! Jurors in Houston deliberated about six hours and agreed with Buc-ee’s. They claimed the alligator with a yellow background and circle shape design also facing the same direction and wearing a hat violates the state and federal trademark law. Damages in the case remain pending. MORE STORY: HERE
“It’s absolutely not about a beaver versus an alligator,” said Jeff Nadalo, counsel for Buc-ee’s Ltd. “There are more than 10 similarities between the two marks that we presented to the jury in this case.”
