CHARGES FINALLY DROPPED FOR WOMAN ARRESTED FOR SAVING ANIMALS FROM HURRICANE FLORENCE
Wayne County officials have dropped all charges from Tammie Hedges, she saved pets from Hurricane Florence. Many owners left their dogs and cats to escape their home. Hedges, has a non-profit no-kill shelter (Crazy’s Claws N Paws) in North Carolina.
On September 17th, Wayne County Animal Services removed animals from her shelter, then 3 days later she was arrested for practicing veterinary medicine without a license. Hedges said some animals were sick or injured, and all of the medication was available over-the-counter, and getting the animals to certified veterinarians due to the Hurricane. Tammy Hedges initially faced 12 counts of practicing medicine without a veterinary license
In a statement, Wayne County officials claimed“the safety and well-being of the animals was the primary concern of Wayne County Animal Services officers.” But all charges have been dropped, not to mention many pet owners were outraged of her arrest. READ MORE: HERE
