After announcing his 2019 Friends & Heroes Tour with the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, Trace Adkins and Lauren Alaina, Blake Shelton has decided to cover a handful of classic country songs leading up to the tour in his Friends & Heroes Session.
First up? Bobby Bareâs âTequila Shelia,â which was featured on Bobbyâs 1980 album, Down and Dirty. The throwback tune features an introductory vocal by Bobby himself.
âOne of the coolest things Iâve been able to do in my career, because Iâve been fortunate, is be a little selfish along the way and be able to record some songs that I grew up loving,â Blake said. âI feel like they have helped shape who I am as an artist and were what inspired me to want to be a country singer. I recorded this song and didnât really have a plan for itâI just wanted to have my own version! Iâm a huge fan, and I always felt like Bobby Bareâs personality was the kind I wanted to have as an artist too.â
