CNN reports: Under legislation going into effect on January 1, store owners and operators will sell pets that come from either shelters or rescue organizations and MUST provide records of origin for the animals or face a $500 penalty per animal. Pet Stores will be required to give animal control agencies access to those records.
Oregon may be next . . Oregon legislature is considering a bill that would prevent the sale of dogs at pet stores who are purchased from breeders with $500 fine imposed on the business.
