During the July 31st episode of Alex Cooper’s popular Call Her Daddy podcast, breakout country star Megan Moroney finally addressed the Morgan Wallen relationship rumors head on. “I have so tried to avoid [this] in every single interview I’ve ever done,” the 26-year-old Moroney shared. “We’re here now, and time has passed, and all is well. It was never a relationship. Here’s what I’ll tell you though, because I haven’t told anyone this ever. We were friends for a long time. We were not just friends. And now we’re friends.”

Moroney revealed that she first met Wallen back in 2020, before the Covid pandemic, and clarified again that the two country singers were “never officially dating,” and are just friends now. Cooper questioned how the two could keep their former fling secret, especially with them both in the public eye. “It’s not that hard. I feel like he’s a very private person,” Moroney disclosed. “Because he’s such a private person, it just feels, like, awkward talking about it.” (Us Weekly)
