Hank Williams Jr is Back for Monday Night Football

Hank is back on ESPN!   From 1989 to 2011, Hank Williams Jr.’s song “All My Rowdy Friends”  was how TV viewers began Monday Night Football,  but ESPN and Hank parted ways and after 6 years, he’s back!   Hank Williams said in interview on Sunday:  “I never said ‘Are you ready for some football’ on stage one time the last five or six years, but I will now,”

Even Hank posted the news on his Facebook page

“I think it’s a return to our past in that it’s such an iconic song associated with football,” said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of events.  “It belongs to Monday Night Football. It’s a Monday night party and that’s what we’re all hoping to get back to.”

If you may or may not know ESPN parted ways with Hank Williams Jr.  due to some controversial comments about then-President Barack Obama.
