Woman Dies After Running Back into Burning Home to Save Dog

Bensalem, Bucks County, a loss of homeowner made it out safely from a house fire, died when she rushed back in and was overcome with smoke inhalation.   Early Wednesday morning before  6:30 a.m. within minutes fire crews had put out all flames but smoke was pouring out of the house.   Battalion Chief said a woman who was standing out the home ran back in the house to save her dog.   Crews found her body on the first floor.

As Battalion Chief Sponheimer put it, “Once you’re out, stay out,” and let authorities know.

Two survivors were able to safely make it out of the home along with one dog.  Authorities say a few other pets did die in the fire.

She was outside safe… but ran back in to get a dog… they found her body on the first floor.
