Actors Ralph Macchio, William Zabka Reunite for Karate Kid Sequel

The Karate Kid was released in 1984 and the two actors who played rivals in the movie are teaming up again for a 10-episode series for YouTube. The series which will be a comedy called Cobra Kai, will debut in 2018.  Ralph Macchio first played Daniel LaRusso will once again step into his role with his on-screen rival actor William Zabka who played Johnny Lawrence will reunite for this comedy series.

In the 1984’s The Karate Kid Johnny Lawrence was a karate student at Cobra Kai dojo and Daniel LaRusso won the match at the All Valley Karate Tournament, now fast forward the sequel series will include a story line where Daniel as a father who is drawn back to the dojo when Johnny reopens Cobra Kai.  The two actors have remained friends over the last three decades.

YouTube has picked up a The Karate Kid TV show starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. (Yes, really!)
