Outside of Atlanta, Georgia,  Some are seeking the removal of Stone Mountain monument

Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor in the state issued the following Twitter thread calling for the removal of Stone Mountain:

Baltimore,  MD —  during the overnight hours all four Confederate monuments were removed.

Four Confederate monuments quietly removed in Baltimore overnight. “They needed to come down. My concern is for the safety and security of our people. We moved as quickly as we could.”

The Dallas school trustees will discuss renaming campuses named after Confederates,  Dallas now has at least four elementary campuses named after Confederates: Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, Albert Sidney Johnston and John H. Reagan.  Last year, the board approved changing John B. Hood Middle School —  named after a Confederate general — to Piedmont Global Academy after many parents wanted a new name.
