Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor in the state issued the following Twitter thread calling for the removal of Stone Mountain:

Lee, Albert Sidney Johnston and John H. Reagan. Last year, the board approved changing John B. Hood Middle School — named after a Confederate general — to Piedmont Global Academy after many parents wanted a new name.
