DFW Attractions You May Not Know About

1. ARBOR HILLS NATURE PRESERVE

PLANO,    200 acre park to hike, bike and walking trails also pedestrian only trails, observation tower, custom pavilion,  and playground.  Park hours are 5:00 am to 11:00 pm daily.

2. BIG DADDY’S SHIP STORE

GRAPEVINE,  Lake Grapevine is a beautiful place to relax, see a gorgeous Texas sunset and indulge in some great eateries, burgers to comfort food.

3. BRITISH EMPORIUM

GRAPEVINE,   This shop caters specifically for all things British, including teas, chocolate, biscuits, magazines and more celebrating England!  Not to mention lots of gift items you cannot find anywhere else.

 

4. HIGHLAND PARK SODA FOUNTAIN

DALLAS,   An Old-fashioned Highland Park Soda Fountain is always a treat when you have a taste for nostalgia.  You can get an old-fashion breakfast, variety of sandwiches, and end it all with ice cream shake, malt or a float.

 

5. LITTLE ELM SANDY BEACH

LEWISVILLE LAKE,   Just like it’s name this sandy beach on Lewisville Lake is family friendly, also nearby restaurants, and one of the best places to see a sunset in DFW.

6. MARINE CREEK TRAIL

FORT WORTH,   Little known “secret” walking path, along the creek in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Tucked-away but easy access from an alley off Main Street.  Enjoy a delicious meal at stockyards then walk it off with beautiful scenery.

 

7. MUSTANGS OF LAS COLINAS

IRVING,  For those in Las Colinas are familiar with the the mustangs on North O’Connor Road.  Great site for any Texan or Texas tourist.  The mustangs are bronze sculptures that show nine majestic horses in the water.  Incredible site in the evening lights.

8. THE PLANETARIUM AT UT ARLINGTON

ARLINGTON,  Expand your horizon, great adventure with star shows, movies and take a pic of your kids ‘walking on the moon’.  Many locals overlook this Planetarium, but should be added to your list to look into at UTA.
