Two customers have filed a lawsuit against King Spa in Dallas who say they contracted Legionnaires’ disease while vising the 24-hour spa. The two customers did not know each other and visited on different dates but both developed serious health issues after their visit to King Spa & Sauna. Both customers used the spa’s showers, saunas, hot tubs and pools. The lawsuit alleges that the customers inhaled Legionella bacteria that was in the spa’s water system.

DallasNews reported that the manager of the spa uses a chlorine water system that is regularly inspected. Legionella bacteria grows in fresh water, and can multiply rapidly, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Legionnaires’ disease, which is treatable with antibiotics. the customers affected began with cough, fever and aches – one required hospitalization and later diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease.
