The University of Texas takes on Oklahoma University at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas Saturday afternoon kick-off time 2:30pm It’s the weekend of crimson and white vs. burnt orange and white. New to Dallas? What is Red River Showdown?
The game originated in 1900, and until 2005 the game between the two schools was known as Red River Shootout but the name changed in the year 2005 to SBC Red River Rivalry, with Rivalry replacing ‘Shootout’ and then 2006, SBC was no more so another name changed when AT&T acquired SBC which evolved to new name of AT&T Red River Rivalry, then in 2014 another name change AT&T Red River Showdown. Since 1932 the game has been held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, during the State Fair of Texas.
