Twitter announced Tuesday it will roll out a 280-character limit after testing the option since September. Testing was successful showing people spent less time editing their tweets and less likely to abandon them, Testers experienced less frustration trying to limit their tweet into only 140 characters. The new character limit applies to all languages with the exception of Chinese, Japanese, or Korean languages complexity of those languages’.
The company did not say when it would start allowing users to post 280-character tweets.
