Tillis recorded more than 60 albums and scored 35 top ten singles but bigger success came from songwriting for other artists. He wrote the classic, “Ruby (Don’t Take Your Love to Town),” “Detroit City” and “Mental Revenge.” Tillis recorded “Coca Cola Cowboy,” featured in the Clint Eastwood flick “”Every Which Way but Loose.”
