El Pollo Loco Pulls Back on Opening More Locations in DFW

Question:  What Happened?  When first announced the California based restaurant had big plans for big heights in DFW and now growth plans are being pulled back.   El Pollo Loco had 13 restaurants in DFW,  two have closed, now down to 11.  There are 14 in Houston.   MORE STORY:  HERE

Recently,  Chief Executive said during a conference call:  “ongoing challenges in our Texas markets.” 

“Looking ahead to 2018 … we expect to build fewer restaurants versus 2017,” he continued, “Performance in these restaurants continues to be below our expectations, and as such we will be implementing a brand relaunch in both of these markets”
