NBC has just shared the first teaser for their upcoming season of Sunday Night Football, which features Carrie Underwood’s 2024 opening theme song. The clip includes a video montage to get fans fired up for the upcoming NFL season, with the first Sunday Night Football game of the season scheduled to kick off on September 8 with the Detroit Lions taking on the Los Angeles Rams from Ford Field in Detroit. The promotional video also shows Underwood emerging into the spotlight wearing a sparkling silver outfit, with plenty of crowd shots featuring NFL fans cheering from the stands and the sidelines.
Underwood first started performing the Sunday Night Football theme back in 2013, taking over the duties from Faith Hill. This is now Underwood’s 12th year of performing the SNF opening theme song, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” with the country superstar adding some of her own personal touches to the traditional song over the years.
